Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Is it safe?
A: Yes, our number one priority is your safety. Shoots take place under the supervision of a gun range officer who ensures the enforcement of our rules and safety measures. There is no risk of injury when shooters wear the right gear and know how to properly handle a firearm.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: Everyone must have an active membership or purchase a day-pass to shoot. Cost mostly depends on the number of rounds you plan to shoot. One round is 25 clay targets. You also need to allocate money towards ammunitions, shooting gear and the rental of a firearm if you don’t have your own.
Q: Do I need to be a member of the club?
A: No, you don’t need to be a member of the club to practice clay target shooting but you need to purchase a day-pass and be accompanied by a guide or a member of the club.
Q: Do I need a permit?
A: No, a person is allowed to practice clay target shooting with a non-restricted shotgun under the one-on-one supervision of one of our instructors. However, you need to get a Possession and Acquisition License (P.A.L.) with the non-restricted option if you wish to purchase your own shotgun for clay target shooting. For pistol shooting, you need a P.A.L. with the restricted (CRFSC) and non-restricted (CFSC) options. It is also mandatory to complete the Law 9 course. If you want to go hunting, you need a P.A.L. with the non-restricted option and you also need to complete the hunting course (ICAF).
Q: Can I bring my own firearm?
A: Yes, you are allowed to use your own firearm as long as you are able to provide the appropriate permit. We accept shotguns, pistols and rifles that belong to the restricted and non-restricted categories.
Q: What is the minimum age requirement?
A: Children can start shooting at the age of 12 years old under the supervision of an adult.
Q: Should I wear special clothing?
A: We recommend that you dress comfortably. Please note that open-toe shoes and high heels are not allowed. A shooting vest with some padding on the shoulder and pockets is comfortable and practical. You can also choose the option of adding a pouch to your belt.
Q: What kind of protection do I need?
A: Ear and eye protections are a must! You can invest in a pair of ear muffs or simply use ear foam plugs. Shooting glasses are also mandatory. Everyday sunglasses may or may not be shot-proof and will make it harder to see the target.
Q: Do you rent equipment?
A: Yes, we rent ear muffs, shooting sunglasses, shooting vests and a large selection of firearms.
